H7 bulbs tend to be used for dipped – or low – beam, while H1 bulbs can be high or dipped beam, depending on output. Other H-rated bulbs can be used for fog lights and indicators – your Haynes Manual will tell you which bulbs your car uses, along with the watt rating for each.
